Track Convenors

Maeve Houlihan (Maeve.A.Houlihan@ucd.ieis a Senior Lecturer in management at University College Dublin, leading the MSc in Management and Organisation at Smurfit School of Business, the undergraduate OB teaching team at Quinn, and management for the UCD MA in Arts Management and Cultural Policy.  Maeve researches working lives and has published on management strategies and practices, call centres and other forms of frontline customer service work, and social issues in organisations for journals including Work and Occupations; Work, Employment and Society; Human Resource Management Journal; Employee Relations, and several edited collections. She is co-author with Sharon Bolton of 'Work Matters: Critical Reflections on Contemporary Work' (Palgrave 2009) and 'Searching for the Human in HRM' (Palgrave 2007).  
Rhodri Thomas (r.thomas@leedsmet.ac.ukis Professor of Tourism and Events Policy at The UK Centre for Events Management, Leeds Metropolitan University, UK. Originally trained as an economist, he now engages in multidisciplinary research in the context of tourism and the events sector. He is a member of the Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC) Peer Review College and is currently working on an ESRC funded Follow-on project entitled Engaging business elites from the tourism sector (RES-189-25-0205).  Rhodri is Editor of Journal of Policy Research in Tourism, Leisure and Events.
